Seamless BAS connectivity with intuitive local control and touchscreen visibility
Q-PAC, a leader in the design and manufacturing of commercial HVAC fan systems, has introduced BACnet/IP as a standard feature in all Premium Control Panels. Accessible through a network switch, the update expands integration options for engineers and building owners while preserving all existing features, like local speed control and the touchscreen HMI.
The Premium Control Panel now supports both modern Ethernet-based network integration and BACnet MS/TP, giving users added flexibility across new and existing building automation environments. This allows engineers to standardize on one control platform for a wider range of projects without changing how they manage local operation at the unit level. In typical deployments, the system defaults to IP-based connectivity while still allowing projects to use BACnet MS/TP where RS‑485 serial networks are preferred.
With BACnet/IP support, users can now access operational data and system points over standard Ethernet networks. Available points include airflow, power monitoring, fan status, individual motor status, and fan and system alarms, helping facilities teams improve visibility into performance and system conditions without relying on RS-485 serial infrastructure.
The Premium Control Panel is a UL 508A panel available for indoor and outdoor environments, offering local control via a 0-10V potentiometer and hand/off/auto switch or remote control over analog, BACnet MS/TP, and now BACnet/IP. It comes equipped with control options for analog (0-10V), BACnet, and automated controls for either constant static pressure or constant airflow. Monitoring over BACnet provides access to these operational data and system points.
Support for this access is detailed in the Premium User Manual, which includes guidance for setup as well as an object guide for available points. For consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, and facility stakeholders, the BACnet/IP addition broadens the application range of the Premium Control Panel without disrupting established workflows, supporting faster access to system data and practical flexibility for both retrofit and new construction applications.
