Midea is leading the way in heat pump innovation, workforce development, and industry collaboration to accelerate energy-efficient HVAC adoption. Our EVOX All Climate Heat Pump, a DOE Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge participant, meets the highest standards for cold-weather performance and ease of installation, making it a leading choice for contractors and homeowners transitioning away from fossil fuel heating. The EVOX All Climate Heat Pump provides continuous operation at up to 149°F/65°C, with up to 100% output at 122°F/50°C and continuous operation down to -40°F/-40°C, with up to 100% output at -31°F/-35°C.
We were recently awarded Intertek’s First Global CVP Compliance Certificate for Air Conditioners, reinforcing Midea’s role in setting industry benchmarks for performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
Beyond innovation, Midea invests in workforce training, partnering with trade schools and HVAC institutions across North America. We’ve donated installation units to schools like Orange Technical College and SUNY Delhi to help train the next generation of HVAC professionals. Through our showroom expansion, we are also creating hands-on training hubs that give contractors direct access to Midea’s technology, ensuring they are equipped to install and maintain modern, high-efficiency solutions.

How is Midea involved in the broader HVAC industry?
Midea is actively engaged in shaping the future of HVAC through collaborations with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and workforce development programs. We work closely with utilities and rebate programs to expand access to heat pump incentives, making it easier for contractors to help homeowners transition to sustainable HVAC solutions. Midea has also partnered with key government organizations to advance heat pump adoption, including the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) through the Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge, New York Power Authority (NYPA), New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) through the Clean Heat for All Challenge, and ENERGY STAR, where we actively participate in monthly HEAT Council meetings.
As we continue to invest in education, regulatory collaboration, and industry training, Midea remains committed to driving innovation and supporting the widespread adoption of heat pump technology across North America.
Can you share a specific example that demonstrates your commitment to HVACR contractor success?
At Midea, we recognize that contractor success depends on strong distribution partnerships, hands-on training, and easy access to cutting-edge technology. Our collaboration with Air Cool Supply, a leading HVAC distributor in Kissimmee, Florida, exemplifies our commitment to supporting contractors with the products, resources, and expertise they need to succeed.
Through our partnership, the first Midea-branded showroom, training center, and distribution facility opened in Florida, creating a hub for contractor education, hands-on product demonstrations, and installation training. The 31,000-square-foot facility gives HVAC professionals direct access to the latest in Midea heat pump technology, allowing them to gain familiarity with installation techniques and system operation before working in the field.
By integrating contractor training with sales support and product availability, this collaboration ensures that Midea heat pumps are more accessible than ever to homeowners. As we continue to expand our training and distribution networks, partnerships like this will play a key role in advancing heat pump adoption and empowering contractors with the tools they need to succeed.
What training and education resources does Midea offer?
Midea is committed to training the next generation of HVAC professionals through trade school partnerships, hands-on training programs, and showroom-based learning opportunities. We have partnered with 12 trade schools across North America, including Orange Technical College, to provide technical training, equipment donations, and educational support to future contractors.
At AHR Expo 2026, we participated in a Workforce Development Panel focused on the importance of industry education, highlighting how Midea is preparing HVAC professionals for the shift toward high-efficiency heat pump technology.
Our showrooms in Orlando and other key markets serve as dedicated training hubs, offering contractors direct experience with our latest heat pump solutions, installation best practices, and service tools like iCheck and iService. By bridging the gap between education and real-world application, Midea is helping build a skilled workforce equipped for the future of HVAC.
What are you excited about in the year ahead?
As policies in the HVAC industry continue to evolve, Midea not only focuses on driving innovation, expanding workforce training, and increasing heat pump adoption across North America, but also considers the needs of contractors and installers — working to deliver solutions that save both time and labor costs while helping customers achieve energy efficiency and stay ahead of regulatory trends.
