When contractors are in the middle of a job, the last thing they need is to wonder whether they’ll have the cylinders to handle refrigerants safely and compliantly. Worthington Enterprises manufactures the refrigerant cylinders that keep work moving — and after last year’s R-454B supply crunch exposed how much that availability matters, they invested heavily in production capacity and distribution coordination to make sure contractors aren’t left waiting. We talked with their team about how they’re supporting the industry through the A2L transition and what they’re focused on in the year ahead.
Why did you decide to partner with ACCA?
Worthington Enterprises values its partnership with ACCA because it connects us directly with the contractors who rely on safe, efficient, and dependable refrigerant handling every day. As a manufacturer of refrigerant cylinders, we sit at a critical point in the cooling supply chain—where product integrity, safety, and regulatory compliance directly impact contractor performance and end-customer satisfaction.

Through ACCA, we gain meaningful insights into contractor needs, evolving regulations, and industry best practices, allowing us to continuously improve our products and support. Just as importantly, the partnership provides a platform to collaborate on education and advocacy that advances the entire industry.
“As a manufacturer, our responsibility extends beyond the product—we are committed to supporting the professionals who use it,” said Joe Giannetti, general manager for cooling, construction, and fire suppression, Worthington Enterprises. “Partnering with ACCA ensures we stay aligned with contractors’ real-world needs while contributing to a safer, more efficient HVACR industry.”Top of Form

How does Worthington Enterprises empower HVACR contractors to be effective and successful in their jobs?
Worthington Enterprises empowers HVACR contractors by delivering high-quality, reliable refrigerant cylinders designed for safety, durability, and ease of use in the field. Just as importantly, we are focused on ensuring consistent product availability, especially during peak cooling season when contractors depend on uninterrupted supply.
Over the past year, we have made targeted investments in capacity, planning, and supply chain coordination to strengthen reliability across our network. These improvements are designed to better align with supply chain partners and help ensure contractors have the products they need when they need them most.
Our goal is to provide both product confidence and supply confidence—so contractors can stay focused on serving their customers without disruption.
What sets your company apart? Do you have a unique product line, service offering, or company culture?
What sets Worthington Enterprises apart is not only the quality and reliability of our products, but the philosophy that guides us in how we do business. Rooted in the Golden Rule—treating others as we would like to be treated—we approach every relationship with customers, distributors, and contractors with respect, accountability, and long-term partnership in mind.
This philosophy shows up in practical ways: standing behind our products, communicating transparently, and taking ownership when challenges arise. It also drives our commitment to continuous improvement—whether that means enhancing product performance, strengthening supply reliability, or better aligning with contractor needs in the field.
By combining manufacturing expertise with a people-first mindset, we aim to be more than a supplier. We strive to be a trusted partner that contractors and distributors can rely on—not just for quality cylinders, but for consistency, integrity, and support over the long term.
Can you share a specific example that demonstrates your commitment to contractor success?
Contractor success depends on reliability across every part of the job, including consistent access to the equipment used to safely handle refrigerants. At Worthington Enterprises, we took that responsibility seriously following the R-454B supply constraints experienced during the most recent cooling season.
In response, we made targeted investments to strengthen our ability to support contractors during this period of high demand. This included increasing production capacity to record levels, expanding our workforce, and enhancing coordination across our manufacturing and distribution network. These actions were designed to improve throughput, reduce lead times, and better align supply with A2L transition demand.
As a result, our distribution partners are seeing improved availability and greater consistency heading into the current cooling season, helping contractors maintain schedules, avoid delays, and operate with greater confidence.
What are you excited about in the year ahead?
Worthington Enterprises is focused on supporting the HVACR industry through ongoing refrigerant transitions, evolving regulations, and continued emphasis on contractor safety. As new refrigerants and standards emerge, we are committed to ensuring our cylinders continue to meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements.
We are continuing to invest in operational capabilities and supply chain resilience to better serve contractors and distribution partners in a dynamic market.
Looking ahead, we are excited to deepen our engagement with industry organizations like ACCA—collaborating on education, safety initiatives, and best practices that help contractors adapt and succeed in a changing environment.
